Jill Hennessy
The native from Edmonton, Alberta has a diverse ancestry spanning Irish, Italian, Swedish, French and Ukranian. Jacqueline is the twin sister of her and an actor. Growing up, Jill became fluent in a number of languages including Italian, French and Spanish. She began her journey into acting around the age of 12. In Toronto she started her professional career as an actor in David Cronenberg's Dead Ringers. She played an escort in the show with her twin sister. Then she studied improv comedy at Second City with Deb Kimmet. The actress relocated back to New York two years later after which she signed a deal to portray assistant District Attorney Claire Kincaid in the hit show that has been running for a long time Law & Order. The actress also appeared in films including RoboCop 3 (1998), Ron Howard's The Paper (2000) and I Shot Andy Warhol 1996) in her three-year tenure. Following that she was offered roles in several forgettable films. In 1999, she got a role as the lead in the miniseries uremberg with Alec Baldwin. Autumn in New York followed with Exit Wounds. Her first lead role was of The NBC crime drama Crossing Jordan in 2001. In 2007, she received the Gracie Allen Award for "Outstanding female lead in a drama series" in recognition of her performance on the show. In 2000 she married her co-star Paolo Mastropietro. They have two children together. She was inducted into Canada's Walk of Fame in 2007.
