Marcia Gay Harden

Marcia Gay Harden is the third of the five brothers born at La Jolla on 14 August 1959. Their mother, Beverly (Bushfield) had been a housewife, while her father, Thad Harold Harden, was an active soldier. The family was often moved. When they lived in Greece the family became more interested in theatre and enrolled in Athens plays. Harden began college in Europe in American institutions and then moved to the US to complete her master's degree at University of Texas. In 1983, Harden earned her MFA at NYU. Miller's Crossing was the Coen Brothers comedy that cleverly paid homage to the 1990 film about gangsters, Miller's Crossing. Although Harden was in films in the year 1986 (in the less-known The Imagemaker), she played a seductive woman-of-the-world in her first role in the mainstream. Harden's beautiful portrayal of Verna who was a mysterious, beautiful moll, earned her rave reviews. Harden also played supporting role. She was in Ava Gardner, a TV biopic based on Frank Sinatra.
