Awkwafina

Awkwafina is an American performer and actress. She began by releasing funny, well-written lyrics in rap that dealt with issues like racial identification and sexuality. Then she expanded her fan base to Hollywood. Nora Lum began her musical path as a trumpeter. Born in Forest Hills Queens, she was a child of Chinese immigrants as well as Korean immigrants. She also received Jazz and classical training before delving into hip-hop as a teenager. While in college, she took classes in writing and women's studies. In addition, she spent a short time studying Mandarin during her time in Beijing. After graduation, she start focusing on music. Her 2012 track My Vag a response to Mickey Avalon's My Dick found viral success across the Internet and was later released on her debut LP Yellow Ranger in 2014. The album also included viral hits such as the body-positive Queef or the winking city tour the city of New York Bitche$. The third track was linked to Awkwafina's NYC Travel Guide published in 2015. This was another initiative. Following a career that was successful as a singer, she chose to assume the role of an actor. She's appeared in movies including Neighbors 2, Storks, and Bad Rap. Her breakout performances included Dude Ocean's 8, and Crazy Rich Asians. Then in June, she launched the EP In Fina We Trust.
